Social Security Number
A Social Security Number (SSN) is required to apply for federal financial aid and veteran benefits. Students will receive an annual request for an SSN or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) if a valid one is not on file per the IRS Form 1098T regulations.

Note: You are not required to provide an SSN or ITIN to register for classes at Waubonsee. However, by providing it, you will assist with matching records to your file, such as transcripts and test scores. If you prefer not to provide an SSN or ITIN, then please enter 999-99-9999 in this field.

NOTE: A minor child is any child under the age of 18.



An out of workforce individual is: an individual who 1) has worked primarily without payment to care for a home and family, and for that reason has diminished marketable skills; or 2) is a parent whose youngest dependent child will become ineligible to receive assistance under part A of title IV of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 601 et seq.) not later than 2 years after the date on which the parent applies for assistance under such title; or 3) is unemployed or underemployed and is experiencing difficulty in obtaining or upgrading employment. If you are choosing not to work to focus on school, then the answer is "no."

A student in care means any person, regardless of age, who is or was under the care and legal custody of the Department of Children and Family Services, including youth for whom the Department has court-ordered legal responsibility, youth who aged out of care at age 18 or older, or youth formerly under care who have been adopted and were the subject of an adoption assistance agreement or who have been placed in private guardianship and were the subject of a subsidized guardianship agreement.
